Hi All,

I have a question for you. I have a PDF from our client. Unfortunately I can't share it with you but the screenshots yes.

How can I crop a vector-based image element that contains a lot of additional elements in the background? First of all I already used the remove irrelevant objects.

I don't want to rasterise the PDF. It is somehow possible to solve this?

Thanks,

Ouch, that’s some real nightmare fuel!

Hope your RIP and PitStop setup will handle it…

The action you’re looking for in PitStop is Crop line art

Once selected, make sure to tick the following checkboxes:
  • Crop line art to clip mask
  • Crop line art to: and select BleedBox (or another box that suits your needs)
Important: This will clip existing printer marks , so you may have to remove them properly beforehand, and recreate them afterward.

Hi,

Great, thank you very much! I have one more question: how can I remove the cropped elements from the background once the crop line art action list has run?

he previous action should already remove parts that are outside the selected box or clipping mask.

However, you can still run a basic set of cleanup actions to remove any leftovers:

Remove invisible data
Remove irrelevant objects

Thanks for the suggestions! I used after the crop line arts action list remove invisible data and remove irrelevant objects action list, but there are more elements..

Is there another way to remove the cropped line art?

thanks in advance
