I am undertaking a lengthy procedure with an action list and am about halfway through executing what I aim to do.

The snag is when I attempt to cut the contents from page 2 in the PDF and then paste them to page 1. I have never used an action to cut and paste anything, so the setup may be inaccurate. In the screenshot below, the issue arises where the red line is drawn.
I duplicated my list ( 6 3_4 Remittance - Halfway Test (2) ) and removed everything from the cutting action and what follows. Up to that point everything I am attempting is achieved:

1) I create a frame for the trim box on both pages
2) The frame and each page's contents are grouped together
3) The page's dimensions are elongated and the grouped contents are aligned to the top on page 1 and to the bottom on page 2

What is intended next is

4) To cut the grouped contents on page 2 and paste it to page 1 and align it to the bottom
5) Then remove page 2 from the PDF altogether

I then plan to

6) Remove the magenta linework
7) and mirror (flip horizontally) the contents on the top of the page.

Actions by default are like one-way streets, moving from the beginning of the document to the end. You need to add a Split Action List (under General) step after your Cut objects step to enable the action to perform any operations on the first page.

Thanks! You are right, that is what was needed. I had no familiarity with this action or why it would be needed. This is entirely new territory for me.

I have another issue related to this Action List aside from the original issue related to the cut-and-paste problem.

My action list is completed and it does precisely what I intended it to do, however, when it finishes it appears to have some sort of issue that prevents me from saving it. I am given a "bad parameter" error.


The only workaround I have found was to extract the page and then save the extracted page. But it would be great to deduce why this happens and resolve it. I added a "remove metadata" action step at the end, but it doesn't appear to be the solution.

I can't reproduce this. You may want to contact support.

I have also tried on macOS 15.7.2 with Acrobat 2025.001.20813 and Pitstop Pro 25.11 with no problem.

Are you saying to contact Adobe support with the issue?

Which PitStop Version are you using?
