How do I verify that PDFs sent to HP DFE hot folder got to the DFE.

I have a Switch workflow that sends PDF files to a hot fold on my HP Indigo DFE. I did a recent run of over 1,000 files through that workflow, and 150 of the files went into the hot folder but never showed up in the DFE. There were no errors in Switch and nothing in the problem folder. Is there a way to know for sure that Switch moved the files to the hot folder? I am trying to figure out if Switch is the problem or is it DFE. Any advise or help is appreciated

Indigo DFE hotfolders have a certain configurable poll rate and maximum number of files that can be pulled on that interval.
I'm not sure if the DFE is potentially being overloaded by incoming files, but I would try to meter the speed that files are dropped into hotfolders. Also turn on Safe Move to reduce the chance of the hotfolder picking up a partially written file.

Chad's comment about the safe move option is certainly valid and it may very well be the reason some files were lost.
About the metering, the way to do that is to add a "Hold job" element, to set the "Folder constraint" property on the outgoing connection to "Yes" and to specify a certain number of files. Switch will then drip feed the files to the hot folder instead of all at once.

Have you tried using the free Switch app
HP Digital Front End JDF Control instead of hotfolders?
We are using the app for feeding files to our HP DFEs with very good results.

It's easy to setup, tell me if you want som guidance.

+1 on this, we also submit the JDFs via a JMF SubmitQueueEntry message so we get a response back that the press has received the job and we can get status updates back once the job has been printed.
