Variable Learning

Hello Pitstop users,
Does anyone know of a quick guide to explain and use Variable data sets in Pitstop?
I'd like suggestions for its use and examples on how to implement it in day to day use.
The user manuals are pretty basic and I can't seem to find anything on YouTube or the like.
I assume I am missing a very important and powerful aspect of Pitstop.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
