Hello,
We have a customer sending us a flattened RGB cover. When it converts to CMYK, it comes out more purple than blue. We want to adjust only the magenta to be 85% instead of 100%, so we created an action that utilizes applies a change in the curve. When we run it in acrobat it works as expected, but when put into a switch flow, it washes everything out. Anyone have any ideas as to how we can get this to work in a flow, as it needs to be automated.
Thanks in advance,
Sam
Adjust just magenta in flattened file
Re: Adjust just magenta in flattened file
I was actually able to fix this situation by adjusting the color profile to "Generic Enfocus CMYK" and it worked like a charm

Re: Adjust just magenta in flattened file
I'm glad you got it fixed - note however that the Enfocus "generic" profiles are, well, generic
If possible, you should use a CMYK profile that matches your output device. But those can be hard to get and keep up to date, so you could also consider one of the industry standards like SWOP or Euroscale Coated.

Re: Adjust just magenta in flattened file
I was originally using those, but for some reason those profiles are the ones causing the wash out. I still do not understand why this is occurring, because it works just fine when applied in acrobat. This flow is being exclusively used by a customer who's color values are (supposedly) consistent, so we have that going for us. Do you have any recommendations as to how you would set up the flow? I'm open to all suggestions!
Thanks,
Sam
