Variable Data - Imposing Twice

Post by printlab »

Hello all,

I have created a variable data flow in Switch using the HP SmartStream VPD through the configurator module. Our imposed page size is 12in x 18in (4 up on the press sheet), and the variable data gets implemented quite nicely, but the output PDF gets imposed twice. Meaning it has two sets of crop marks and the file gets resized to 12.58in x 18.58in. I have spent hours trying to track down the reason for this but didn't have any luck. The file does not contain bleed and there are no input fields in the workflow that we saw that would adjust the page size to 12.58in x 18.58in. Does anyone have any idea why it would be doing this?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated,
Thanks.

Can you post a sample database and your indesign template?

I'll see if I can reproduce it tomorrow (night here now).

We heavily use SmartStream VDP in our flows, so I'm really interested in any issues!

We fixed the problem. It turns out that the SmartStream preferences of Adobe PDF Presets in the Output tab were not set to High Quality Print, which would cause the double imposition.
