I'm putting this in PitStop Server because I *think* this is where the issue lies.
I want to layout some random PDF files onto a regular 8.5" x 11" sheet.
What I'm trying to do is make a visual job ticket of what actually got printed, so the operator can just drag in the PDF files and get that sheet output to pass along to shipping so they know what should be going in the box.
I use Griffin to scale the PDFs down to 50% or 25% depending on how many files there are.
The problem is that all the files aren't always the same size, so 50% for one is fine, but looks terrible for the next one.
That's where PitStop Server comes in. I have an action list to resize all of the PDF's to 8.5" width/proportional height. That way I always know I'm starting from the full width of the page and my Griffin scaling will be consistent.
However, I've found that the Griffin layouts fail because of "constraints". Namely that the trim box is still at 8.5" wide, which doesn't fit inside my margins, while the art itself gets scaled by Griffin.
PDF files straight out of Illustrator get scaled fine, but the ones I resize in PitStop Server seem like Griffin can't access those trim boxes or something along those lines.
I've attached some screenshots of my action if anyone can see where I'm going wrong...?

Re: Trim Box Issues From PitStop Server to Griffin
Hi,
I can't see something immediatly wrong. You might have an extra uselss "Select all" as the very first one should still apply at step 3.
And I presume the last one is redundant with what you have before (except the PDF/X setting might indeed add bleed box).
Can you share both PDF, one made out of Illustrator and one out of PitStop Server?
Would also be curious about your settings in the Scale selection.
Apart from that, if you want to scale content to be 8.5x11 and then adjust page boxes size, what about "Scale to fit page size" as in: You Action List may then be
- Select all
- Scale to fit page size [mediabox => 8.5x11]
- Change page layout or Change trim > mediabox and Change bleed to mediabox to remove bleed box.
Not sure it would solve your issue though but may simplify.

Re: Trim Box Issues From PitStop Server to Griffin
Hi thanks for the response,
using the Change Page Size action list didn't fix it, unfortunately.
I can definitely send you the before and after files - should I send it through a ticket? Or directly to you?
I've also attached my Griffin settings here in case that helps.
thanks!
EDIT: I don't know why but I thought the scaling setting was visible in my last Screenshot. This new one should actually show it.
