Reporting Low Res Image's

Post by RussellB » Sun Feb 10, 2019 9:58 am

Is this possible...?

I want to be able to report a full list of Low Res images below 150 ppi, but I would like to group that information by page number, rather than grouping it by resolution.
So, when I put this into an email, hopefully it would look something like this:

- Low Res Image below 150ppi on Page 1.
- Low Res Image below 150ppi on Page 5.
- Low Res Image below 150ppi on Page 11.
etc
So the Customer could easily see what page had Low Res on.

Thanks in advance

Apparently you can create a custom preflight report, but I don't know if that will let you sort the information in the way you would like.

If you're going to email him why not send him the PDF Annotated Report, it's much more user friendly than just some text.

He can see the errors in situ in the PDF so he can see exactly what images have low resolution.
It opens in the free Acrobat Reader so he doesn't have to have Acrobat Pro. Plus you can customize the warning/error messages so they are non-technical.
If you're lucky you can also associate errors with extra costs in the messages, or suggestions on how to fix them.

Thanks for the replies.

The reason I was doing it in an email, is becuase I was reporting back some MIS Information aswell (Preflight Report + MIS Info). So If I could of done it in 1 email, that would of been handy.
I really wanted to know if there was a way of customising the report within the brackets e.g (12xObjects on page 2,5,7-9) but I get the impression there isn't.

But I think I'm going to have a little rethink of my approach.

Thanks for the help.

You can create an action to pick up low res per page.
This made need to be extended to report page by page.

You can then use the xml for the variables in the email.
